Job Opening: Prevention Specialist I

The Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drug Prevention Specialist has responsibility for delivering prevention services in schools and community settings and completing indirect services in support of the prevention goals and objectives as directed by the Prevention Manager.

  • Work with youth and communities to plan, coordinate and facilitate multiple prevention programs in community and classroom settings.
  • Must be motivated self-starter who takes initiative and demonstrates organization skills and attention to detail.  
  • Present to large and small groups regarding ATOD prevention.
  • Knowledge of Best Practice Standards of ATOD prevention programming, and principals of cultural competency. 
  • Provide evaluation tools to participants and collect as programs dictates.
  • Develop comprehensive program reports as needed.
  • Maintain professional relationships with schools, community members, and community support service representatives and agencies.
  • Passionate about community mobilization, coalition building, youth programs and who want to motivate others to adopt health-promoting behaviors.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Health Science, Public Health, Psychology, Social Work or related field.
  • Seeking candidates who are passionate about health and wellness, and who want to motivate others to adopt health-promoting behaviors.

This job is based out of our Media, PA office in Delaware County. This position is at full time, 40 hour per week position with the possibility of having to work nights and/or weekends.
