Didactics and Cases Conferences
● Interns will participate in 2 hours of
didactics each week out of the Exton
office.
● Interns will participate in 2
hours of case
conferences each week out of the Exton
office.
● Each intern
will present one 2-hour in-
service to agency staff during the
internship
year.
● Each intern will conduct one community
outreach project during the
internship
year. The specific nature of the project
will be developed with intern's primary
supervisor.
Compensation and Benefits:
Internship stipend: $14,000 per year Vacation: 10 days Health Insurance:
Available through agency (intern premium responsibility varies based on plan
selection) with premium share by Holcomb.
Holcomb’s internship is based on a 2000-hour program. The internship year
will run from September 1st through August 31st. A typical weekly schedule will
involve 40-45 hours of time on-site. Two (2) evenings per week are required as part
of the internship. Subsequently, flexible scheduling can be accommodated,
however, the internship is on a five-day per week schedule.

Year Round: Outpatient Counseling
Each intern will conduct outpatient psychotherapy with a diverse clinical
population, which will include children/adolescents, adults, families, couples
and groups.
Each intern will engage in a minimum of 10 hours of outpatient counseling per week.
Outpatient counseling will be conducted out of either the Exton or Upper Darby office.
One hour of supervision will be provided by a doctoral level psychologist for
all outpatient cases during the course of the internship year.
Provision of Supervision
Each intern will work with one doctoral practicum student in providing them
supervision for a maximum of two cases. Each intern will be receiving
supervision on this supervision.

Internship Key Staff:
Roger Osmun, Ph.D. is Holcomb’s Clinical Director and serves as the internship’s Training Director. Dr. Osmun received his degree in clinical psychology from Temple University. He is licensed as a psychologist in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. His area of specialization is in child/adolescence and family therapy. He is adjunct faculty at Immaculata University and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His clinical and research interests include: CBT, Humanistic Therapy, Object Relational Therapy, Structural Family Therapy; neuropsychological assessment; biological bases of addiction; cultural diversity; empirically-supported treatments and use of outcome measures to assess treatment efficacy.
Sarah Stookey, Ph.D. serves as Holcomb’s Pre-doctoral Internship Associate Training Director. Dr. Stookey received her degree in clinical psychology from Temple University. She is licensed in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Her postdoctoral training was completed at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center and her current specialization is in geropsychology. She is formerly faculty from LaSalle’s doctoral psychology program. Her clinical and research interests include: intergenerational interactions, optimal/healthy functioning in geriatrics, and psychodynamic therapy,
Elizabeth Shepherd, Psy.D. received her degree in clinical psychology from Immaculata University. Dr. Shepherd is a graduate from Holcomb’s pre-doctoral psychology internship. Her prior work includes over 15 years of experience with Early Intervention. Her clinical and research interests include: childhood developmental issues, attachment, fetal alcohol effects and post-partum depression.
